Meet Wiebke Uhlendorf, a remarkable Accredited Online Business Manager (OBM) who embarked on a transformative journey from being a police officer in Germany to becoming a globe-trotting English teacher, and ultimately, finding her true calling as an OBM.
While Wiebke’s path may be unconventional, the mindset challenges she conquered are familiar to many entrepreneurs striving for success.
Her story begins with a courageous decision to confront her unhappiness and dissatisfaction as a police officer in Germany. Despite the immense pressure to maintain stability and security within her cultural context, Wiebke chose to take a leap of faith, boarding a plane to explore the world and carve out a new life path for herself.
During her nomadic phase, Wiebke explored various roles, from teaching children English in-person in China to moving her English lessons online as she traveled the world, and then finding the Virtual Assistant (VA) role, which is when she built a VA agency. While she found success as a VA agency owner, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something crucial was missing from her work – that essential combination of freedom and fulfillment.
It was during this period of self-discovery that Wiebke stumbled upon the OBM path, finally finding her true calling. She discovered a role where she was finally able to combine her unwavering confidence (that she developed as a cop), with her creativity and kindness, to flourish in the online world and build a business that she truly aligns with and is proud of.
As an OBM, she enjoys the best of both worlds: the freedom to explore the world to her heart’s content while also having a place to call home. Wiebke reflects on this transformative journey when she shares, “After gaining the confidence to really go all in on my OBM career in the Accreditation program, I increased my rates from $25 to $60 per hour. This was a game-changer for me because it made my OBM business viable and sustainable. This newfound financial stability gave me the opportunity to make significant life changes, such as settling down and renting a place, something that only a year ago would have been a terrifying financial commitment for me.”
