Whether you’re just starting out as a new OBM or you’ve been running your business for a while now and are looking to price up, pricing is one of the hottest topics that come up among OBMs. How much should my hourly rate be? What’s my pricing strategy? These are all questions that I get asked frequently. And, if you’re here, you’re probably asking the same things! Read on to find out how to come up with your very own pricing strategy for your OBM biz!

Starting your own business can be a difficult venture. Nowadays, with so many businesses online, OBMs need to think of creative ways to stand out from the competition. As a self-starter, you probably think that you’re ready to do anything to get your business off the ground and start bringing in clients.

While that’s a commendable mindset, there’s one common tactic a lot of new business owners make that I don’t recommend, and that’s working for testimonials. Essentially, working for free in order to get some great endorsements from trusted clients.

Confession time… I did this myself when I was starting out! I can see the appeal, especially for new businesses, but what I’ve learned from my past experience is that you don’t actually have to downplay your skills and your worth in order to get paying clients.

So, how much SHOULD you be charging for your services?

The truth is, it’s not a question with a hard and fast answer. Your rate should be unique to you, your circumstances, and the value that you can provide to your clients. There are a lot of factors you need to consider in order to set a rate that’s best suited for you. Factors like your own personal expenses, how much you want to make in a year, your tax bracket, how much you’re working, and so much more.

In my video, I break down what these factors are and how you can calculate them into your fee so that you’ll be setting your own tailor-made prices that suit you and the types of clients that you want to attract.
